Battery Design
A well designed battery installation will ensure that batteries do not represent the weakest link in your power protection system. Kohler Uninterruptible Power’s battery experts are always available to advise on all aspects of battery design. We’ll assess your specific battery requirements – taking into account issues such as critical load, autonomy time, ambient temperature conditions, integral battery requirements, open or cladded battery rack design, electrical design & protection and health & safety - and recommend a customized design to meet your specific needs.
Battery Installation
Our battery installation service is ‘made to measure’. We provide the highest level of customer service – be it ‘supply only’ or a fully project managed battery installation.
Battery Impedance Testing
Our impedance testing service provides a means of assessing the internal condition of the batteries. Recorded at regular intervals, impedance testing will track battery condition to enable an accurate end-of-working life prediction for individual cells, so batteries can be replaced before they cause a critical power protection failure.
Battery Maintenance
UPS batteries have a finite operating life which is determined by factors such as the ambient temperature and the number of charge/discharge cycles. Regular maintenance is critical to ensure the battery working life is optimized and weak or faulty battery blocks are detected. Kohler Uninterruptible Power’s battery experts provide regular on-site battery maintenance services to check and report the condition of your power protection system batteries. Comprehensive checks include:
- Environmental checks – ambient operating temperature
- Cell and string voltage checks
- Open circuit battery and UPS float voltages
- Inspection of the physical condition of batteries, terminals and connections
- Re-torquing the intercell connections
- Individual cell post & interconnector corrosion examination
- Assessing battery cabinet condition
- Equipment cleanliness
